Competency 3.0

Graduates must be competent in communication skills with individuals, colleagues, and other health professionals from diverse backgrounds.

While taking Dental Health Education we completed a video on our communication with the patient, other clinicians, and members of faculty. During the reflection of this video, we learned that there are numerous aspects that go into our communication skills. Communication is an important trait as a dental hygienist because it is up to us to inform our patients about their oral health and also relay that to other dental staff.
