Personal Brand

I was recently asked to do a google search of my name and it gave me an opportunity to see myself through someone else’s eyes.

According to my social media accounts I:

  • am Disney fanatic
  • love hanging with friends/family
  • am interested in all things fashion
  • go to as many concerts as possible
  • do quite a bit of traveling

As I google searched my name “Alexis Gonzalez” nothing came up that was related to me. I wasn’t that surprised because that is a common name but evens so, all my social channels are public. I thought for sure by the third page something would come up but nothing. I then typed Alexis Gonzalez MidAmerica Nazarene University. It was then that my LinkedIn and all school related press came up. I was happy to see that LinkedIn showed up first as I am looking for a full time marketing job and even better my senior communications thesis report/poster showed up on Google images.

Once you find my LinkedIn then all my other information is reachable. There you can find my website/portfolio on WordPress. Which then leads to my social media outlets. The channels I engage most with are Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook (in that order).

I do have other social media outlets such as Pinterest, YouTube, and an old google portfolio I made when I was a freshman in college. I use Pinterest about four times a month and I am on YouTube to look at other videos but I have never posted my own.

I do wish that when you typed in my name “Alexis Gonzalez” that my social post would pop up on the first page because I am looking for employment and want people to look at outlets. Since I am into communications/marketing I am very aware of what I post and pay attention to what my personal brand is. Employers and other consumers can look at my social outlets and see that I am a fun girl in her twenties who has passion and drive. At leas that is what I am going for. I still have a long way to go and a lot more to learn in regards to my personal branding. I hope to have more audience engagement by the end of this semester and hope that people have a better understanding of who I am and who I want to become.

xoxo
