WEEK 2: Part 2 BLOG REFLECTION

Recommendations for Lotus Yoga:

Lotus Yoga has presence in the following platforms: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube.

First off, I would recommend consistency for each of these accounts:

  • Use consistent Name of business “Lotus Yoga and Wellness” (Spa?) (of KC?)
  • Use current logo on all four platforms as profile picture
  • Determine if there are any hashtags or key words in place already that could be used
  • Use same bio for all sites that is at least 150 characters (seen in google search)
  • Add social badges from other social media platforms for cross referencing

  • Profile Image gets cut off…Fix with actual logo, sized correctly.
  • Make Bio longer
  • Look into settings and allow people to post to your page or tag photos if it can be monitored daily.
  • I would suggest following other similar businesses with FB Pages (this is without affiliation).
  • Check all “about” fields for complete content.

INSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/lotusyogakc

  • Make logo profile picture (right now, picture of 3 yoga women)
  • Add a bio of at least 150 words (seen in google search)
  • Find out if business has hashtags and add in bio
  • Make sure setting for people to contact you is enabled. Also tag others in posts to increase visibility.
  • Look into Instagram Insights (as a Business Account) to see graphics of what content works best with current audience.

  • If this is current logo, make it a little bigger.
  • Change name… the actual name of business (not just Lotus Yoga)
  • Make bio longer (take advantage of 160 character max.)
  • Good idea to make direct messages from anyone be seen (in Settings)
  • Make some twitter buttons for profile, list, handle or hashtag
  • Could make them a private list to watch what competitors content looks like without publicly following them
  • Suggest they start using Twitter again! (Have not posted since Aug. 2019)

  • Figure out how to improve URL
  • Change picture to be more consist with other platforms
  • About section needs all fields completed
  • A strong description is highly recommended and will help with algorithms which aids in discover ability (the first three lines are most important)

  1. Dee, I don’t see the “before” images. Remember the links to the pages will only show the “current view” – so at the end of the course, you’ll want to be sure to actually have screenshot images vs links. Good thoughts on the recommendations though!
