A Smoothie Cleanse Detox

Smoothie Cleanse Detox

Ever wonder what a good smoothie cleanse can do for you? Besides resetting your digestive system and packing it with vitamins and nutrients, there are many other benefits. A good cleanse can give you more energy, help your skin, hair and nails, and reset your mind for better eating habits.

Gives you more energy

The quick absorption of a smoothie cleanse is digested more easily, giving your body the nutrients it needs quickly and efficiently. The fluid you take in will help you stay hydrated, as well as replace other energy killers such as processed foods, caffeinated drinks and sugar. Also, sleep has become a big part of our health regime and a cleanse can help you sleep better and feel more energetic when you’re awake.

Helps your skin, hair and nails

If you have hair or nails that break easily, smoothies can help. To help strengthen your skin, hair and nails, a daily green smoothie containing bananas, mango, spinach, walnuts and kale make a good start. Think of foods containing Vitamin A, biotin and silicon. Of course, adding protein powder to your smoothies will not only add protein, but will be more filling and sustainable.

Kickstart you mind for healthier eating habits

If you have overindulged or want to give your body a boost, consider a smoothie cleanse. A  cleanse can make you feel better, look better and get you on your way to start eating healthier. Cleansing with fiber-rich ingredients can help you shed a few pounds, as well.

So next time you want to detox your system, consider a smoothie cleanse. It tastes delicious, is frothy and satisfying, and is quick and convenient if you mix them the night before. Of course, you should consider your health issues and consult your doctor before cleansing.

Week 5; Parts 1 and 2

Part 1:

What is content marketing? Content marketing is plan for coordinating, making and posting your content on social media. Whether it be something created internally, or an external source, your content should be relevant and valuable to your audience.

Two Examples?

The “Food Fact” graphic got more likes than usual on their posts. It was interesting, informative and colorful.

The “Did You Know” graphic is a brief tip on how to lower stress. It has a large heading and do-able DIY tips.

Share the editorial calendar that you mocked up for your Client for July & August (or the full year for bonus points).

Part 2:

Think of a topic that your Client’s audience might want to link to or share: Smoothie Cleanse

Create and Publish a blog post on the topic: See “A Smoothie Cleanse Detox” blog post

Write a status update for each of the social media networks if you were going to share the blog post on different platforms:

FACEBOOK: Smoothies are the perfect companion with yoga. Check out some other benefits from this satisfying drink!

INSTAGRAM:

TO CLEANSE OR NOT TO CLEANSE? That is the question.

Week 4, Part 2

Lotus Yoga and Wellness Spa Objectives

FACEBOOK:

Current Followers on Facebook: 2496 GOAL: 3,125

Increase followers and activity of Facebook by following these steps:

  1. Recommend cutting down the “static” banners. Currently, these banners are 100% of their posts and they post 5-6 times a day. I would like to recommend one banner a day and, other, more engaging posts such as:
    1. Set up questions, polls, opinions or suggestions (one a week)
    2. Promote specific things about your studio/instructors (once a week) (a type of yoga or instructors tips)
    3. Consider contacting businesses that you have a relationship with and offer to reciprocate “likes” and “shares” to reach more people and increase exposure.
    4. Suggest instructors and members  use the “check in” feature on Facebook. Maybe put their name in a bowl every time they do for a drawing at the end of the week. This shows people where their friends yoga and gives somewhat of an endorsement at the same time!

INSTAGRAM:

Current Followers on Instagram: 693 GOAL: 850

Increase followers and activity on Instagram by following these steps:

  1. Recommend cutting down the “static” banners. Currently, these banners are 100% of their posts and they post 5-6 times a day. I would like to recommend one banner a day. Indicate the class schedule is on your website and have link.
  2. Include some posts/pictures of the daily life at Lotus Yoga. Be sure to “tag” relevant users, highlight them and share!
  3. Use humor or clever headings to attract those scrolling. Also, occasional memes are fun.
  4. Look at organizing the posts in categories/round icons for ease of finding specific information.

YOUTUBE:

Current Followers on YouTube: 56 GOAL: 100

Increase followers and activity on YouTube by;

  1. Posting more current videos and content.
  2. Think of businesses with overlapping interests that would appeal to both audiences. Work together to reference each other and bring awareness to a new group of people.
  3. Always like and comment or respond to viewers comments and suggestions.
  4. With 100 followers you can customize your YouTube address/link!

Week 4 Part 1: Lotus Yoga

Lotus Yoga and Wellness Spa vs. The Zen Zone

FACEBOOK:

The Zen Zone is a yoga studio in Lees Summit. They have 5,334 Facebook followers, in comparison to 2,400 followers for Lotus Yoga. The Zen Zone posts 5-10 times a month. Posts include a lot of variety, such as instructors posts, pictures from class, videos, as well as banner and tips.

I think The Zen Zone yoga studio has a successful Facebook page because of the variety of posts and content. Instead of just listing class times, they make comments concerning each post, even if it is a static banner. Also, they don’t bombard the platform with multiple posts a day.

In comparing The Zen Zone to Lotus Yoga on Facebook, I would recommend only posting banners 25% of the time, rather than all the time. Also, fewer posts with more quality content…like consider promoting certain kinds of yoga that might capture viewers interest because they like the same thing. This makes a more quality fan base…they follow you for a reason other than being another yoga studio.

Also, contacting businesses that currently follow you and offer to reciprocate “likes” and “shares” to reach more people and increase exposure. Collaborate with instructors and current members as well and offer incentives for “checking in,” “likes” and “Shares” or other incentives.

Share your objectives and strategies from above (the first “Do” item).  What will you implement (or recommend) to build community engagement on each platform?  Why do you think that will work with the audience you’re engaging with?

FACEBOOK:

Make Facebook posts more personal.

Show pictures of the studio, classes, instructors and promotional items.

Engage the audience more with polls and questions. Get them talking with one another and sharing and liking each other thoughts and ideas.

Encourage instructors and members to participate in the Facebook posts and “like” and “share” your love for yoga.

Always reference their website where they can find any information they may be looking for.

Week 3, Part 2: Personal Branding Statement

Dee’s Personal Branding Statement:

Passionate about Producing and Preserving Photographs

Dee’s Mission Statement:

“To keep priceless memories from fading, while creating a keepsake for generations.”

My social media strategy for all sites is to be more active.

I would like to increase my LinkedIn followers and get 3-5 more endorsements with regard to my produced Senior movies and through the years memory books.  I changed my Personal Branding Statement and currently have an All Star status.

For Facebook, I changed my header photo to be more about my craft, and want to start promoting my passion on a more frequent basis as well as connect on a personal basis.

For Twitter, I changed my profile picture and added a header picture. I have very little activity on Twitter because, well, I’m all about the pictures.

I feel like more of a presence on YouTube would be very beneficial. I’ve read that I have to more than 100 followers to change my URL, so that will be my first goal. I’m looking forward to learning more about YouTube and how to optimize all it’s features.

Since most of the people I follow are on Instagram and SnapChat, I will definitely continue to use them more for personal reasons, rather than promoting my business.

Week 3, Part 1: Blog Reflection

Social Media Strategy and Improvements for Lotus Yoga

Facebook and Instagram

Currently posting 5-6 times a day with a banner with sayings or tips and the class schedule for that day/hour. It provides a quick look for members to get information and it also shows your audience the types of classes offered.

I would recommend posting more engaging posts and mixing up content, to entice the audience to click and share. This will increase visibility with a goal to reach 20% more followers a week.

YouTube

This site hasn’t been used for about 6 months. It needs all the information fields filled in and a more cohesive Lotus Yoga look. I have not gotten access to this account yet.

I would recommend more interaction on this platform with engaging videos and content. With 56 current followers, it would be good to re-engage those followers and add 50 more.

Another recommendation is offering incentives for members to check-in when they visit Lotus Yoga, which shows followers you are an active member and attend classes.

Twitter

The owner is not interested in keeping up with this social media platform, so I would recommend deleting it.

WEEK 2: Part 2 BLOG REFLECTION

Recommendations for Lotus Yoga:

Lotus Yoga has presence in the following platforms: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube.

First off, I would recommend consistency for each of these accounts:

  • Use consistent Name of business “Lotus Yoga and Wellness” (Spa?) (of KC?)
  • Use current logo on all four platforms as profile picture
  • Determine if there are any hashtags or key words in place already that could be used
  • Use same bio for all sites that is at least 150 characters (seen in google search)
  • Add social badges from other social media platforms for cross referencing

FACEBOOK: https://www.facebook.com/lotusyogaandwellnessspa

  • Profile Image gets cut off…Fix with actual logo, sized correctly.
  • Make Bio longer
  • Look into settings and allow people to post to your page or tag photos if it can be monitored daily.
  • I would suggest following other similar businesses with FB Pages (this is without affiliation).
  • Check all “about” fields for complete content.

INSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/lotusyogakc

  • Make logo profile picture (right now, picture of 3 yoga women)
  • Add a bio of at least 150 words (seen in google search)
  • Find out if business has hashtags and add in bio
  • Make sure setting for people to contact you is enabled. Also tag others in posts to increase visibility.
  • Look into Instagram Insights (as a Business Account) to see graphics of what content works best with current audience.

TWITTER: https://twitter.com/LotusYogaKC

  • If this is current logo, make it a little bigger.
  • Change name… the actual name of business (not just Lotus Yoga)
  • Make bio longer (take advantage of 160 character max.)
  • Good idea to make direct messages from anyone be seen (in Settings)
  • Make some twitter buttons for profile, list, handle or hashtag
  • Could make them a private list to watch what competitors content looks like without publicly following them
  • Suggest they start using Twitter again! (Have not posted since Aug. 2019)

YOUTUBE: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCduwKdyMrbnOsDpljh_4y4w/featured

  • Figure out how to improve URL
  • Change picture to be more consist with other platforms
  • About section needs all fields completed
  • A strong description is highly recommended and will help with algorithms which aids in discover ability (the first three lines are most important)

Before pictures posted. Will post after pictures once I get access to all accounts. (Out of town, so may not be until mid-week)

Blog Reflection Week #2, Part 1

In watching the Introductions to the top social platforms, I am more aware of how these apps can really help a business get exposure, find new customers and boost sales. They are able to see what is liked and shared, as well as what is being said about their business. It’s also a great tool for building relationships, responding and conversing with customers and potential customers. Being present on social platforms is much more beneficial as opposed to advertising in a magazine or on television.

I’ve never seen TikTok before, so now I’ve been introduced and I am familiar with all the main social media sites. I look forward to learning how to easily maintain all the sites.

The business I’m going to work with is Lotus Yoga & Wellness.  They are located in Overland Park. I have a good friend that is an instructor there and she would like to see more posts on social media to boost interaction and business. Their Mission: Our Mission is to share the wisdom of yoga by opening our hearts, minds and souls in a space that is safe and nurturing. We do this through the spirit of healing, transformation, service, and love. Many of our teachers are experienced 500 RYT certified and deeply care about your practice.

In searching Google, I found their website come up first and all links on the first page of the search were for their website, their app or online classes (https://lotusyogakc.com, https://www.mindbodyonline.com/explore/locations/lotus-yoga-leawood-ks). The next page of results listed a Yelp entry and a LinkedIn page for the business owner, David Lloyd. I had to manually go to the main social media sites and search there to find any pages.

FACEBOOK: https://www.facebook.com/lotusyogaandwellnessspa

I found a Facebook page for Lotus Yoga, although I had to go to Facebook and type in “Lotus Yoga Overland Park” to find our local one. I’m not sure, but this may be a franchise business.

Facebook has 2,420 followers. They post banners (premade art) with the schedule for the day. They do this often, but it’s not getting any likes or shares.

INSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/lotusyogakc/

Lotus Yoga also has an Instagram page with the same banners as Facebook for posts. They have 693 followers.

TWITTER: https://twitter.com/LotusYogaKC

The twitter page hasn’t been used since August 2019. They have 209 followers.

YOUTUBE: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCduwKdyMrbnOsDpljh_4y4w

They have 56 Subscribers, but haven’t posted any new content for almost a year. They seemed to get a handful of views when they did post.

LINKEDIN: https://www.linkedin.com/in/david-lloyd-995552167/

I don’t see a Lotus Yoga LinkedIn Page…just the business owner’s page.

Overall, I feel like their posts on Twitter are more personalized and informative, but it’s not currently being used, so I would recommend getting that going again. The Facebook/Instagram posts are consistent banner posts with the schedule listed, but that information could be easily found in a more permanent place. I definitely think Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube are great platforms for a yoga business because of the age demographics. I’m not sure if posting more would bring the yoga business social media sites into the search on Google, but I would like to see if I could increase their presence there and get more activity on their pages.

Blog Reflection #1, Part 2 Dee Hartman’s On-Line Presence

Searching for “Dee Hartman”

  • First off, I had no idea Dee Hartman was a famous Actor’s name. However, that is not me.
  • I was not on the first page of links (which, thankfully, the obituary wasn’t me, either).
  • The first link I saw that was actually relating to me was on the 4th page. It was an obituary for my mother-in-law who passed away last summer.
  • I feel like my “Buddy” had a hard time finding me and figuring out who I was.

So, searching for “Dee Hartman” “Overland Park, KS”

  • When clicking on images with this specific search, there were 22 results, with my picture showing up 9th. The image is linked to peekyou.com. This brought up websites like clustrmaps.com, fastbackgroundcheck.com, cocofinder.com, checkpeople.com as well as LinkedIn and White Pages. (Interesting fact: A lot of sites have my old land-line phone number.)
  • I was surprised to find a link for contract work/freelancer on signalhire.com. In April of 2020, I did set up an account with Upwork, but quit perusing it once I started contract work locally.
  • On LinkedIn, I was the first and only Dee Hartman in Overland Park, KS  https://www.linkedin.com/in/imdvirtuallyI have 100 connections. My last post was last month. I am at an All Star status.
  • I’m on Facebook pretty much daily www.facebook.com/hartmandeeMy profile is open to the public, I have 293 friends and post approximately once a month.
  • Screenshots 6-10-21

In review, I would like to increase my number of connections on LinkedIn. I also feel like getting more recommendations and endorsements would be helpful for job search purposes. I do have a Pinterest Page as well as a “portfolio” that I’ve chosen to keep private at this time. It might be a good idea improve the portfolio for “public” view as well as a blog.

All About Dee

HELLO! I’m probably one of the older students in this class. I have three grown children who have all gotten their college degrees. I decided it was my turn to take some classes!

I’ve lived in Overland Park for over 20 years and love it. Since I’ve been home for the past year due to the pandemic, I have totally enjoyed spoiling my two puppies, Maggie and Carli.

I’m pursuing a Digital Marketing Certificate to go along with my Desktop Publishing Certificate I got years ago through JCCC. Since COVID, I’ve been working out of the home and I’m finding that although I like to be creative, I’m moving away from graphic design as a job.

With this class, I hope to become much more comfortable on the social media sites, start to develop a presence for myself and possibly a personal business, and learn the best strategies and tips to help people with their marketing efforts.
