Flipped Career Fair

Inaugural Flipped Career Fair...

Being touted as the most innovative and intentional career fair,
employers and students alike found the first-ever Flipped Career Fair to be a very valuable experience.

A special thanks to all of the Employers/Recruiters and Students who participated in the first-ever Flipped Career Fair on April 19th. Hosted at Johnson County Community College’s new Collaboration Center, about 75% of the connections led to interviews for potential internships and jobs. Additionally, the Employers generously contributed over $2,000 toward student scholarships for the participating programs (Accounting, Business Office Technology, and Marketing + Management).

What EMPLOYERS are saying…

“I thought their qualifications were matched well.”

“Great questions and dialogue during the panel discussion.”

“Each student was well spoken and interesting to speak with.”

“I wish we had 5 more minutes of time per person.”

“I have 2 hot prospects for full-time positions and possibly could utilize some as summer employees.”

“Very impressed with their overall preparation, minus a few resume errors.”

“This is the most innovative career fair I’ve been to. Loved the format and having one-on-one time with each student. I hope the students stay connected. Let us know when you do this again!”

What STUDENTS are saying…

“Very satisfied with employers that came to us and gave us opportunity to succeed.”

“I was pleased with the diversity of the employers in attendance. The various backgrounds and positions available opened my eyes to many future opportunities within the marketing management field.”

“It was a cool career fair. I got to meet with employers individually and that was less intimidating. More of my friends should have been there for sure.”

“They gave us good advice/wisdom in regard to how to conduct ourselves in a job interview.”

“I feel as though I have a real possibility of getting a job or internship after participating in the flipped career fair. The employers in attendance were serious in scouting potential candidates. I am equally serious about pursuing contact with a few individuals after the fair.”

“The panel at the end was my favorite part. The pointers, tips, etc. I wish we had more time during the scouting part.”
