So far everything seems to be going well. I definitely need to work on adding more content to the page. I also haven’t been able to add a linkedin page for the company due to circumstances beyond control but I have a backup plan so I be working on that.
This week I learned quite a bit about Google+ and Linkedin. I personally feel like Google+ actually has a lot more to offer than I originally thought. The circles are a great feature. It’s another great way to kind of sort and order people the way that you want to. It helps the viewer to be able to easily go through the information and posts that they want to, rather than having to look through every single person’s posts. They are really easy to make to, and who doesn’t love easy? I also found the communities rather interesting as well. I joined a few right off the bat that I thought would be good for the page. I joined the gaming group as well as the small business group. I’m planning on using google+ as yet another networking tool, I don’t really see it as something like facebook where it’s more geared towards the customer. I see it as more of a place like linkedin, where professionals can share information and network with ease. I made a few circles already breaking down the industry and people that are influencers. As for linkedin, I hadn’t made a personal page yet even though I knew I should so I decided to go ahead and work on that. I think Linkedin is a really really great tool for college students, it’s really easy to find people with similar interests as you and be able to expand your network while you’re still in school. I like that you can find a company’s page as well as people who work for that company. What better way to find out what it’s like to work there than from the people that actually do? For a company, I think that linkedin is a great way to find potential employees as well as connecting with other industry professionals and share things with them. I plan on working on my personal page asap because I definitely feel that networking is something that I should start doing now.
