I feel like this class is going by so fast and that I’ve learned so much in such a short amount of time. It’s not the advertising itself that is the difficult part, it’s doing it effectively that is the most daunting part. You can put out all sorts of ads but if you aren’t targeting some sort of specific audience, then you are in a way, failing as a marketer. I took a while to look at the different sorts of ads that I see on my own social media accounts and it helped me kind of set up a plan as to what I would do for my client. I’ve decided to break it down into what I would do for each social media account:
Twitter: As with most of these accounts, I would first begin by posting content on the page and from there I would look at the stats of who is specifically looking at the content. I would look at keywords and searches that these people were looking at and from there I would make sure to include relevant keywords in my own content. I would also come up with a generalization for a demographic and make sure that my content was showing up for people who were interested in those sorts of things. I would also engage with people as much as possible to build brand loyalty and hopefully find someone to have as a brand ambassador with a higher level of klout.
Facebook: For facebook, it’s kind of the same deal. I would look at what is working and what isn’t and make sure that I have some idea of who exactly to be targeting while working on expanding my audience. I would have ads that show up on facebook when people are looking for similar content or even just on the side of their wall if that’s the sort of thing that they like. To me, the best way to widen your audience, is by figuring out exactly who they are and what they like. From there, you can work on things such as contests and giveaways or even have facebook live times which would provide an even higher level of interaction with your audience.
Youtube: To me this is one of the easiest places to really market your brand. You can have ads show before another person’s video on a different channel that may be making similar content to you. Another great option is to collaborate with another channel that’s similar to yours, so that both of you can benefit. It’s a great way to expand the viewing circle with the potential to gain more viewers. Another easy way is to interact with people in the comments, it’s not a hard thing to do and always has the potential to become a full blown conversation with multiple people who may even end up becoming brand ambassadors for you. Overall, I think the key is to be active on youtube, whether it be just commenting and talking to others, or making your own content. I think just doing something here, can have great potential to expand your audience.
Like, I said previously, I think that youtube is the easiest place to interact with people. I do think that instagram would pretty much fall in line with twitter and facebook so I’m not going to make a category exclusively for it. I do think that monitoring your stats, regardless of the network, is extremely important. You need to be able to see what is and what isn’t working for you so that you can make it the best that it can possibly be and set yourself up for success. I think it would be a lot harder if these social networks didn’t allow you to view specific statistics such as these.
That’s all I have for now
