According to the Strengthsquest online test, my top five strengths are Strategic, Maximizer, Adaptability, Command, and Activator. My ultimate goal is to eventually start and maintain a business of some kind — whether that be online retail, a physical store, or service provision. I feel that these strengths are well suited towards this eventual goal.
As a Strategic individual, I have the ability to find the best way to a solution. I can move clutter to the side in order to find the correct path. Maximizers are focused on excellence. I focus on my strengths (as well as others) in order to become the best I can. I don’t worry about what I can’t do. Instead, I focus on what I can do, and do it well. Adaptability means I am able to live in the moment and change as needed. This is extremely important when starting a business or taking any step that is uncertain and risky. Command allows me to take control and push people to their maximum potential. I have an authority over others and can push them to do what I think is best. Finally, as an Activator, I am always ready to start something. Planning can only get you so far. At some point, you have to take a risk and actually do it.
All of these strengths will be very useful in starting and owning my own business — from planning and starting, to expanding and managing.
Insincerely, Silas
Silas, what a wonderful combination of strengths! Looks like you are strong in the “influencing” domain, with strengths in the execution and strategic domains as well. In choosing business partners in the future – it will be advantageous to choose those who are stronger in the other domains, specifically the “relational” domain. 🙂
