Social Optimization

I preemptively created two new social accounts last week and updated the others to match. The new ones I created were Twitter and Youtube. At the moment, I don’t really intend on regularly employing either, but I figured it was a good idea to claim my handles before I’m famous. My other one’s were actually fairly well optimized so tweaks were only minor.

In order to maximize SEO and consistency, I modified the bio on all channels. I sat down and wrote the core values and what products are offered. I combined these words into a coherent and humorous description.  Where applicable, I also included links to my other social accounts. This should count as a form of backlinking to improve search ranking. Additionally, the keywords in the bio will help with relevant search results and serve as the description for the listings. That is why consistency is so important.

I also took the opportunity to modify the name on all platforms. On some I was simply called “Insincerely. On others it was “Insincerely.Co.” I changed them all to be just “Insincerely.” I also updated the cover photo and profile image across all platforms for consistency once again.

One thing I need to improve is font and color selection. My company is still new enough I haven’t decided on my aesthetic. I want to narrow this down and select a few fonts/regular colors. As my company grows, I also need to remember to go back and modify my bio to better match my product lineup.

Here were my social sites before-hand:

And here they are now:

Great start, Silas! You have the designer’s eye, so I’ll look forward to seeing what you come up with.
