Throughout this lesson I’ve had a few takeaways here. Some of the takeaways I’ve gotten was, make sure your profiles are optimized, analyze your audience behavior, as well as make your social media presence a clean slate of yourself. But the lesson I was most drawn to was the lesson about our own personal branding and social media. It was also the most valuable lesson to me for a couple reasons. Number 1, it’s always a good idea to make yourself presentable to other people, especially employers. Employers will take a look at candidates social media accounts to ensure that they’re not hiring anyone that’s either blasted their business, or has posted about being involved with criminal activity. Another reason I found it valuable is because one day, our social media sites will be virtual time capsules. We want to have a social media presence we’d want to show our kids and grandkids. It’s who we are. Especially during a time where social media is as popular as ever.
