My Self Audit

Hey there,

So I went on a little mission to try and find myself on the great wide internet. Well, I did not exactly find much.

Only one picture.

Only one web link.

Below is the photo I found of myself, as well as the link to my only social media that came across on Google. To be quite frankly, I’m a little surprised there wasn’t more about me considering I have a following on Instagram of 1,600 some people.

My strengths

Hey there.

I just took a questionnaire about myself to find out what my strengths are. While some of them were not surprising, a few were a little shocking to me. Let me explain to all of you my strengths!

  1. Strategic: I can’t say I’m too surprised with this one, I will say I’m surprised to find this on the top of my chart. Whenever I come across a problem, I try to look at a broad perspective on how I can resolve an issue in the most efficient way. Or, if I’m doing a project, I always try to scope out a more creative way to  complete the project. Using social media to market a business, product, idea, or theme takes strategy. Marketers have to come up with a strategic plan to market said item/entity to lure potential customers or members to that item or entity, especially if it’s for something in such a broad and full market.
  2. Futuristic: Our future holds a lot of value. We see our future as a time to grow, inspire, to achieve, and excel. However, I think of my future as “okay, what do I need to do to achieve a comfortable living situation when I graduate college?”. Businesses think of the future in terms of sales or production goals. That very same applies to social media marketers. Their goal for the future is to gain a following on their platforms, to gain business, and to inform the general population about their business or entity.
  3. Communication: Communication is key to having a healthy lifestyle. Without communication, we don’t know how others feel, what others want, or what needs to be accomplished. I communicate daily at my job with Edward Jones Investments. I feel it’s essential for me to reach out whenever I need help, and when I deal with clients wanting to do, say, a wire transfer out of their account with Jones over to say Charles Schwab. Marketers need to communicate with leaders within their organization in order to understand what needs to be marketed, and what the target audience for that product is.
  4. Woo: Woo is describe as having the joy in meeting new people and winning them over. Personally, I’m a huge social butterfly, and my friends tend to have me make out the plans for trips and events throughout a weekend because I manage to find stuff to do that everyone enjoys doing. Within a business, it’s important that leaders and marketers prospect. Prospects are part of the “woo” group. They want to be won over by a business to get involved or to buy a product from a business.
  5. Achiever: I would have thought that this would have been at the top of my list considering that once I start something, I have to finish it. Not only do I enjoy having something to do at all times, but, I really like that feeling of success from accomplishing a task at hand. Marketers feel the same way too. I know if I were to market a business or product, I would want to achieve the goal of say, 5,000 followers on Instagram, or sell a best selling item on Amazon.

Introduction

Hi there. I’m Zach Carmichael and welcome to my blog. 🙂

I am a sophomore at JCCC studying marketing, I decided that this course would be really helpful in gaining a better understanding of the social media aspect of business marketing and I’m hoping to gain some experience in the social media marketing world. Past experiences I’ve had in the work force have involved being a cashier/online shopper at Hy-Vee, a cashier at Chickfila, and a bank teller at CommunityAmerica Credit Union and I’ll be starting soon a job working as a office administrator for Edward Jones Investments.

Some things I hope to take away from this course is to learn how to market a business online in more creative ways than a typical post, how social media marketing influences a business’ revenue, and how social media marketing has evolved over the last decade.
