Reflection 2

 

After conducting all of the personality tests, it seems my personality is very emotion based. I feel that it is accurate and I do interpret and make decision based on how I feel. My strengths were empathy, input, strategic, adaptability and developer. I also tested to have an INFP personality type which is introverted, intuitive, feeling and perceiving. It is described as a personality that is visionary and dreamer. On the other tests I tested high in ethics and freedom which I still consider to be emotion based. I also tested high in creative and imagination. I think most important in achieving my goal are my trust and empathy. I plan to enter a marketing/sales based career that is based on building trust and relationship. The best way to achieve it is to be authentic, honest and to trust. My top five values are freedom, ethics, pleasure, trust and control. I believe control and freedom go hand in hand. I want to not be controlled and to feel free. I am passionate about enjoying life and being an honest creative person.

Blog Reflection 1 Introduction

My name is Alice. I am newly married and I have a seven year old daughter from my previous marriage. My cat, Mocha, is the baby of the house. I believe I am a sophomore in college now. I have taken so many breaks and major changes over the years it is hard to keep track. My major is in Marketing Management. I currently work in sales as a Sales Account Executive. I am currently looking for a new position that has more flexibility so I can focus on my education. I would like learn what experimental marketing is and it used today. I would like to learn more about the marketing industry and to better market myself and my skills. My hope is that after finish this degree I will have more self confidence in myself.

I included my certificate above. I believe Hootsuite could be a very useful tool in managing social media. The fact that you can schedule post will help you when creating your content calendar. I could see this for Britney’s designs Kc because she is very busy and doesn’t have time to meet. Hootsuite would allow us to meet minimally and be able to prepare in advance. I believe the analytics component is useful as well for studying the audience and which posts have most engagement.

Week 12

This semester I have learned a lot. I think what was most fascinated was learning on the behind the scenes work that goes into a social media strategy. The analytics, SWAT, and so much more tools that you use to create a plan. What was also interesting was learning about what a brand really is and how much it effects the business. Social media accounts has such a large influence and some parts of it are measurable. I really enjoy making content but it is much more effective when you have the target audience in mind.

Week 11

Recently, the ads that have been targeting me are ads for jewelry. What makes the ads effective is the jewelry pieces they are selecting. They chose their most favorable pictures and popular items. They advertise a great price which is ultimately what makes me click the link. What would make it not effective is advertising items out of my price range. Companies can track the success right on Facebook by seeing how many people click the link onto their website. For some ads, you can have social commerce in place and they can purchase directly on the site. You can compare numbers on sales before the campaign was running and during.

 

Above is the ad I created for her page. The campaign is directly towards black Friday bargain shoppers. Many people shop in advance for Christmas gifts. We hope to fill up on custom orders for the season. Our target market for this ad to reach people looking for Christmas gifts for their female partners. We haven’t decided on a budget. With this being a side business her marketing budget is not very large.

Week 10

How to Make Your Tumbler Last Longer 

Every one loves a double insulated tumbler! It keeps drinks cold for 16 hours or more but also can keep it warm for at least 11 hours. How can we make that last?

The cups must be hand washed only. I recommend using a soft sponge to not risk scratch the epoxy on the cup. It is very important to not put the cups in the dishwasher. This will ruin the double insulation and the ability the maintain the temperatures for an extended period of time. When washing do not soak prior to washing just direct hand washing. The tumblers are not designed to be under extreme heat or in the microwave.

Week 8 Reflection

When I spoke with Britney from Britney’s Designs KC, her goal was to generate enough sales to be able to quit her full time job. I believe social media can help generate this. I believe she has followers but she needs more engagement and more conversions. Her current Facebook has 528 followers. I would like to increase the followers by 100 a month. I think that is a good optimistic target. I think contest posts will help that a but I would also like to run a Facebook ad campaign. She has never attempted this and I believe it could really stretch her growth. I did not receive any tips from my classmates to apply to my strategy but I read other peoples comments. One classmate suggested to the other a collaboration with influencers in the Kansas City area. I would like to do this with the Instagram page. There is one influencer I follow in this area (@kasimjhardaway) that reviews a lot of restaurants but he also makes a lot of recipes. I believe, we would be able to work in the custom cup content into his content. The instagram has 143 followers. I would like to grow this number by 20. I think this is a slow start but I believe once achieved we can increase this. I plan to track the growth rate using the formula. Also, I am still waiting for her to choose which custom hashtag from the 4 I came up with for her pages.

Reflection 7

I believe the craft social community would be the category that Britney’s Designs KC falls into. More specifically custom made tumblers, like Wild Hart Shop. I cam across her following on Tiktok. This shop is run by a woman who posts engaging content. She does reveals, she has tutorials and educational content. Wild Hart Shop has over 25,000 followers and averages 4k likes on videos. I believe to grow he community she can do a couple giveaways. She has announced sales but I don’t see any giveaway posts. Another tactic could be to establish a brand identity. Two things I observed about Wild Hart Shops is that she has a special promo code specifically for Tiktok so she can tract her ROI. Also, she links a charity in a profile to help the cause and donates proceeds. She also links her affiliate code for a tumbler supplier. I would apply those tactics into Britney’s Designs KC social media marketing strategy.

Reflection 6

This week we work on our personal brand. I had attempted do this in the past but wasn’t really sure how to or what message I wanted to put out there for myself. For my personal brand statement, I came up with the sentence below. I tried to use the why, how, and what method.

“I have the desire to help people, by finding the right store fixtures for their business display needs.”

My social media strategy has two objectives: network and gain new leads/sales. The main goal for these platforms is to build awareness, relationships and to convert leads into sales. To measure these goals I will track how many new relationships I gain. I will also track how many sales I can gain through these platforms.

For my Linkedin page I created a banner on canvas. I used a quote found on Simon’s video. I also added an about section. I created new pages for my twitter and Facebook. I didn’t want to mix business objectives with my personal sites. A another alternative to this could have been to create a business like page on Facebook instead of a new personal account. I added my same profile photo to all accounts to look professional.  I also added unique banners to each platform.

Reflection 5

For Britney’s Designs KC, our business objectives are to increase brand awareness, increase customer loyalty, and increase sales. To increase brand awareness we will post unique content on each social media platform. We will measure this by increase in followers and content engagement. For our second objective, we will encourage loyalty by doing a giveaway for previous customers to post their previous purchases and tag our pages. We will randomly choose a winner and all those that enter would receive a 10% discount code. We will track it’s success by tracking how many customer’s use the code. Our goal is to increase sales by coming out with a new seasonal line of cups. The new products will be used as a metric of base sales and then see how we can increase over time.
