Last year, JCCC Enactus partnered with the JCCC Nutrition Club to work with a food desert located in Clearview City, Kansas. With help from a Unilever grant, students completed an inventory of food items available in stores accessible to the individuals living in zip code 66019. Students in the Nutrition Club then developed menus which meet MyPlate nutritional guidelines and average SNAP benefits. Residents of the area were provided with the menus and recipes. This year, the group plans to continue their work with Good Natured Family Farms, a marketing alliance of over 100 local family farms.  This alliance has done a lot of work with urban KC food deserts, and has grant funding to continue this work in communities like Clearview City.
