Community Planning Group Project

This project required students to collaborate in small groups with the goal of creating a community health program for an assigned population. My group was assigned preschoolers and from there we were able to identify needs for the specific population based on  data that was given to us.

Competency

As a dental hygienist were required to work with the community and provide care for many different populations. The project above gave us an insight into just one specific population and how we can address that populations specific needs. I feel as though I am competent in working with the community, because in our program we are required to recruit our own patients which means we have to be constantly searching within the community for potential patients who fit our needs. From their we must address what that specific person’s oral health status is and how we should go about treating it.
