Top 5 Strengths

These are my strengths and some takeaways from the readings about each one as I feel they apply to me. I think they are a pretty accurate description of me!

  1. Futuristic = “You can energize yourself and others by your vision of what could be. You can clearly see possibilities.” I am notorious for going into coworkers offices with big ideas.

  2. Ideation= “You are a creative person, and you appreciate originality. You love new ideas and concepts.” It also says people with Ideation as a strength should “consider careers in which creativity seems to be important.” Like Marketing Management!

  3. Analytical= “The genius of Analytical talents lies in the solid foundation you lay for moving forward. Your questions drive you to uncover the essential facts needed for excellence in any endeavor.” I actually thought of using this word as the one word to describe myself in last week’s discussion post. I went with Strategic, but I think I was on the right track. It also says analytical people can ask too many questions, which I am completely guilty of.

  4. Focus= “You prioritize your life and tasks, and then take action. You become frustrated when you when a group you are a part of doesn’t have clear goals or direction.” Everything has a priority ranking in my life and is done in order.

  5. Intellection= “Others may write you off as a “geek” because of your sophisticated level of thinking and use of language.” This made me LOL. I can blame my popularity in high school on my intellection!

I can definitely leverage my Futuristic and Ideation strengths in class to come up with creative ideas for social media presence, loyalty building and campaigns. Have Analytical, Focus and Intellection strengths will allow me to thoroughly evaluate a social media presence and think through recommendations.

I feel I have great strengths for a career in marketing. I’m creative and love new ideas, and I also have a side that can analyze the ideas to make sure they’re worth trying. I liked the Marcus Buckingham video we watched before taking the strengths test. I knew exactly what he meant when he was talking about being in the “zone”.  I want to be one of the 20% people that have a career that plays to their strengths!

Love it, Adrienne! Your strengths lie heavily in the strategic thinking domain, making that more of your leadership style. You will most likely enjoy the strategic/planning side of marketing, as well as analyzing data/results to make decisions. 😉
